EUOBOR Awards
The Institute has set up “Award for Euro-Sino Economic Research” and “Award for Sino-Euro Cultural Exchange Contribution”, each of which will be released once annually to an individual from Europe or China.
The Awards shall be given by the Institute through deliberation and evaluation. We also accept applications for the Awards.
Winner of 2016 Euro-Sino Economic Research Award:

After cautious discussion, we decide to give 2016 Euro-Sino Economic Research Award to Pallas Athene Geopolitical Institute of Hungary for its great efforts and excellent achievements in the research of economic relationships between Europe and China.
As an international political economy research institute established under new world economy situation, Pallas Athene Geopolitical Institute of Hungary attracts a batch of high-level scholars, making significant contributions to the research of the economic relationships between Europe and Asia, especially China. The institute published many important academic papers in 2016, including The Historical Silk Road, One Belt One Road, The Geopolitical Significance of Piraeus Port to China, Hungary on the Silk Road, Silk Road in East-Central Europe, The Structural Transformation of the Chinese Economy, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and Tsinghua University, in which it studies and introduces the situation and development tendency of Chinese economy and the partnership between China and Europe objectively and positively. These papers provide certain foundations and guides to the economic analyses and decisions of Hungary and other European countries.
On May 22, 2017, Norbert Csizmadia (middle), president of PAGEO Foundation and Anton Bendarzsevszkij, director of PAGEO Geopolitical Institute receive the Award from Zhou Xinjian, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese embassy in Hungary, during the European Forum for Belt and Road Cooperation.

Professor Liu Yuening from Central Conservatory of Music, China

After cautious discussion, we decide to give 2016 Euro-Sino Cultural Exchange Contribution Award to famous Chinese dulcimer artist Dr. Liu Yuening from China’s Central Conservatory of Music for her great effort and distinguished contribution to the cultural and artistic exchange between Europe and China.
As one of the leaders of Chinese dulcimer circle, Professor Liu attaches great importance to the exchange, mutual learning and intercommunication between Chinese folk music (including dulcimer) and foreign music, especially European music. Her effort not only enhances the mutual understanding and integration between Europe and China in the field of musical culture, but deepens the friendship between the two sides. Led by Professor Liu, European Tour Troupe of Prizewinners of National Yangqin (Chinese dulcimer) Competitions of China paid a visit to Austria, Hungary and Romania in 2016. It is considered as an icebreaking trip for the exchange of musical culture between Chinese dulcimer and European dulcimer, to which field Music Confucius Institute and Center for Exchange & Experience of Chinese and Foreign Music Culture, hosted by Professor Liu, make significant contributions.
